Photographer’s Note
KASTELL MENGANT, PLOUZANE, BRO LEON
MENGANT FORT, PLOUZANE BRITTANY
The « goulet de Brest » is a 2 kilometers long straigh that links Brest natural harbour to the ocean. Many fortifications have been built along, mainly by Vauban.
The Mengant fort, built in 1684, was one of these. From the tower and barracks, it remains an artifical platform, a few houses and walls climbing up the cliff. 500 men lived there to activate the 40 guns.
The picture was shot from the coastal footpath from Brest to Le Conquet, a wonderful walk to discover.

Salut Jean Michel
Beau boulot, amicalement
Hervé
