Photographer’s Note

Cut out shore, fringed reefs, roughcast rock hillocks, such is the surprising spectacle offered to the neighbourhoods of the site of the Pit.
In the course of time, the landscape changed little by little. Rather complex phenomena of swell led to accumulations of rollers which lengthened to give rise to tombolos.
The tombolos are cords of transverse rollers connecting the ground to small islands.
On the site of Plougrescant, it is a system of three cords of rollers which enclose two brackish water lagoons. These lagoons, which communicate with the seamen circle through the cords of rollers, present
a great interest from the botanical point of view.
The phenomena of erosion affect in a different way the rocks according to their composition.
Here, granite, less degraded, form of rock accumulations called granitic chaos.
