Photographer’s Note

The castle of the "Roche Jagu" was built at the XV century on the ruins of a fortress which overhung Trieux' river.
In 1405, Catherine de Troguindy builds the manor on the site of a fortress ruined by the war of succession. Dominating the river it is an excellent site of monitoring. It is also the residence of a family of high row. The frontage which accomodates the visitors opens on a court and terraces, it is made of gilded granite, opening of many windows but of only one door in gothic arch. Wrought iron grids protect the openings from the ground floor; the first stage is lit by mullioned windows, that of the high room is noticed by its sculptures of Gothic style; the second stage has four openings in warhead, old doors which opened on a coursière who does not exist today any more, and of the quadrangular windows. Eleven attic windows and nineteen octagonal chimneys decorated at the top, animate the roof. A turret reduces this frontage
