Photographer’s Note
According to locals, there is no such thing as bad weather in Brittany and nobody should be afraid of getting there for vacations and choose south of France instead. The weather there is not bad, it is just changing all the time! You can be sun bathing on the beach and 5 minutes later under the rain. The good thing is that you can see the rain coming from quite far on the sea, thus giving you enough time to go back home before getting soaked.

Rain coming! In this picture it seems dramatic, you make us imagine a terrible storm, not a simple rain.
ùBut I like the wide space you gave to the clouds, it is a very nice landscape
Thank you, ciao!

Scary and yet beautiful. A marvelous perspective of this huge storm. You caught this natural phenomena very well and the people on the beach give an idea of the size of the place and clouds. Interesting composition and well executed. Thanks Vincent.

Bonjour Vincent
Le choix de ce cadrage est très judicieux.La masse des nuages écrase le paysage et c'est très bien vu.
Une excellente réalisation.
Bonne journée.

Hello Vincent,
The spectacular sky is the star in this fine seascape and has rightly been given the right amount of space. Very good light and tones. Good work.

I like how the tiny figures on the beach emphasise the huge scale of the clouds overhead, and there's quite a contrast between the areas of sunlit cloud and the rain on the horizon.
I wish you hadn't sharpened the sky though - there really is no need to sharpen skies. It's resulted in the dark underside of the cloud going a bit blocky, a common result of sharpening smooth tones.
The distorted horizon is also a bit of a shame, but it's only to be expected when placing a straight line near the edge of the frame when using that kind of lens. I found the same kind of thing on my 10-20mm zoom - this horrible wave distortion. Much harder to get rid of than simple pincushion or barrel distortion that you'd get on a wide prime lens.
Despite these little niggles I like this shot - it's full of atmosphere, but most of all I like that contrast between the tiny figures on the beach and the huge cloud.
Good stuff Vincent.
Cheers,
Ben

Bonjour Vincent -
Very impressive cloud conditions it looks like the leading edge of a cold front. The beach and ocean give this massive cloud some sense of scale. You have managed the extremes in contrast very well. Well seen and presented.
Thank you for sharing.

A cloud expert would be able to name all these clouds; there are at least 3 different kinds. The small amount od land in the composition with the people like ants works very well with that huge sky to emphasise the power of nature. Good shot.

Another sensational Atlantic sky, Vince. Skys don't come more dramatic that this one. The colour is lovely, I like the way the huge sky dwarfs the tiny people on the beach, as though, overwhelmed by the power of nature. regards kevin

Hi Vincent,
Well, having spend a week in Brittany in April, I largely agree with you about the weather - it is never truly bad, just sometimes capricious! I like this bold, brazen view of the sweeping clouds, the dark rain area in the distance, and the thin slice of delightful sea and sand in the foreground. Clouds can be so photogenic and uplifting to the soul. Very fine work...Demain.
