Photographer’s Note

People who know Lorient a little should be very surprised that this shot was token ... in the centre of the city ! Not so surprising, since this place has been hidden to people of Lorient for a long time. This mill (actually there are two mills but the other one is not on the photo) are in Lorient arsenal. This military land has been forbidden to civil people for a long time. Some people had already seen these mills, but just on photos. French Navy recently gave part of the arsenal lands to the city of Lorient. Now you can walk on the Peristyle promenade, starting at the end of "Quai des Indes" and showing us river Scorff as a very few people had seen it. The mills are on foot of a very high lighthouse called Tour de la Découverte (Discovery Tower), on a small hill called Faouedic Mountain.
