Photographer’s Note

I had asked this young fellow to help me wish everybody a Happy New Year on TE, then one morning as I was passing by his field, he had gone and I have not seen him again! It was pleasant going past him everyday on my way to and from work; unfortunately, his masters must have had other plans for him!
However, I decided to post his photo to thank him for all the silent chats we had for a few years.
His field is by the lake shown on my photos 50 and 51, which I will post in WS to this one again.
MARTIN is the usual name given to a donkey in France! It's also the most common surname and first name in our country, and 485 towns are called St Martin.

Lovely, sweet, strong and much ridiculed animal

Hi Marie Louise,

An excellent donkey shot. Nice light and colours. I really like your POV. The donkey look very good indeed. Personally I would, however, had tried to place his ears against the sky in the opening between the trees in the background by moving a little bit to the left. It is hard to tell if the donkey would have looked better. You never know such things before you have tried. TFS and have a nice week-end!

Cela vérifie le dicton "il y a plus d'un âne qui s'appelle Martin". En tout cas, Le sir Martin vit dans un environnement bien agréable.

C'est un beau petit âne. Il a une belle stature sans avoir celle des baudets du Poitou, mes préférés puisque "compatriotes" :)
Une bien belle image naturelle et loin des villes.

Bonjour, Marie Louise.
Il est sympa, Martin! Et il n'était apparemment pas géné par la présence de l'appareil photo. La motivation venait aussi peut être du fait qui s'attendait à recevoir quelque chose en échange de son travail de mannequin!

Toujours attendrissants les ânes,je suis certain qu'il attendait une friandise en échange de la visite et de la photo.Un très bon rendu de sa couleur sur cette image.

J'aime l'âne si doux
marchant le long des houx.
Il a peur des abeilles
et bouge ses oreilles.
Il va près des fossés
d'un petit pas cassé.
Il réfléchit toujours
ses yeux sont de velours.
Il reste à l'étable
fatigué, misérable.
Il a tant travaillé
que ça vous fait pitié.
L'âne n'a pas eu d'orge
car le maître est trop pauvre.
Il a sucé la corde

Salut Marie Louise,
Lovely portrait of a really sympathetic animal, so unfairly ridiculed, as apparently they are quite intelligent and certainly have a strong personality. The green backdrop and the pretty sun light makes his brown body stand out and the POV is simple, but adequate.
Interesting story, that of the "Martin's". :-)

Desde San Martín de Valdeiglesias desde donde te escribo estas letras, te felicito por tener amigos tan sabios de los que tendríamos que aprender algunas cosas, no sabía como llamáis a los burros en Francia ... es simpático y curioso.
Has tomado un retrato de Martin muy interesante y sobre todo me gusta su mirada entre paciente y curiosa. Enhorabuena amiga Marie Louise.

Hi MarieLouise,

Nice portrait... the texture of its hide shows very well. Good expression on the face too. I love the color of the green grass, and it contrasts well with the brown.
