Photographer's Note

View of an oyster farm at Larmor-Baden, in the Gulf of Morbihan. The oysters grow in metallic structures that stay alternatively in open air or under the sea following the natural cycle of the tides. They are also cultured in the Mediterranean but due to the lower tide coefficient, they have to be raised by mechanical means. Lifecycle is 3 years long, and every 2 months they are manipulated so that they grow round and concave. In Morbihan the yearly oyster production is around 10000 tons.

Javier
