Good Morning Everyone,
This is the church of St. Gildas in Laniscat.
The church was built in the 16th century and has had various modifications since then. The north and south aisle and porch are from 1691 whilst the west porch was 1725 to 1751.
The church has four huge round turrets that make up the bell steeple or tower. Inside the church it is cold and dark with an ornately carved altar area. Around the walls are various religious statues and flags.
The church has a clock which, I believe, is more recent.
I wish you all a lovely day, Bev :-)

this looks magnificent. There are so many wonderful buildings like this scattered all over France. They have so much character and this beautiful grey stone and texture that just seems to warrant being photographed under a blue sky. Irresistible imagery!
Enjoy a good week ahead - B.
Tipping down here again Bev, getting webbed feet now.....B.

A fine composition of this church with its singular tower. The church is well framed and I like the glimpse we have of the surrounding houses as well as that lovely sky. The image is agreeably lit and has good colours and sharpness. All the best!

What a fantastic view of this old church. Being a nature lover my eyes are being pulled towards this lovely blue sky and the wonderful criss- crossing unique cloud formations. Excellent light and clarity, superb quality of image. The Church with its old world architecture has been presented with lot of details as well.
Thanks for sharing.

This is one of those buildings which belies it age by its unique “of its time” design, and its such an unusual design of building which I find fascinating! Not only the tower, but the shape of the main church is so unusual. I love the sky behind this, it makes the whole scene look like a painting. The purple flowers make a great impact for the color range of the scene, and I love that all the surrounding buildings are of the stone that the church is made of, giving this a very cosy small village feel.
Wonderful shot Bev, have a great week

Un très beau cadrage vertical, très avantageux pour ce très eau clocher . J'aime beaucoup les arrondis dans les coins, les fleurs à l'avant plan ainsi que la beauté du ciel.

excellent the view as the presentation of the church of St. Gildas with the superb old bell tower with the four round turrents to outline perfect against the blue and cloudy sky.The pink flowers on the foreground adds contrast in the frame.

A marvelous view of the church's tower, Beverly.
The cylindrical turrets on its sides, we usualy see in France, but probably an ancient Gaelic heritage.
Viewing the shadows I try to figure whether it was a morning shot or an afternoon photo, tend to vote as an afternoon's.
A fine shot.

Ciao e buona serata

This is an interesting church. I can't really make out what "style" this is. It looks so heavy but was built hundreds of years after the Romanesque style got out of fashion. The top of the tower shows traces of Gothic style (I think) but is far too young for that as well. The tower also looks surprisingly high in comparison with the rest of the building. I find it strange, but maybe I'm just totally ignorant and should be ashamed of myself :-). I like the photo anyway with its good light management and fine contrasts. The flowers adorn the foreground and the sky is superb too.

L'architecture de cette église est vraiment originale. Même les autres bâtiments sur la gauche semblent faits avec la même sorte de pierre. Bon cadrage avec les fleurs en avant plan. Salutations.

Neighbors again today, yay! :) At first this looked rather unassuming, but a closer look revealed many interesting details and facets that I've quite enjoyed. You couldn't have asked for a better backdrop to contrast the earthy tones of the stone construction, the blue sky and whispy clouds really do wonders for this image, and the splash of vibrant colored roses along the tiny wall are a delightful compliment. You've managed some wonderful light as well, everything looks to be properly exposed. A relatively simple church, but very well presented to be most impressive and beautiful. Hope you're staying dry over there. Enjoy the day ahead.

Nice architecture perfectly presented, nice light capture, even the tower in the shadow is well managed, well made, tfs.

The red flowers in the foreground actually add very good accents beneath the grey church, the picture really needs these accents. An impressive church and a very well chosen POV.
