Photographer's Note

View on Kérou beach, the western one of Le Pouldu seaside resort, in Clohars-Carnoët on south coast of Finistère. Many artists were inspired by beauty of sceneries in Le Pouldu and stayed there. Most of them were from the famous Pont-Aven school, a group of artists who came in the small village of Pont-Aven from late 19th century. The painter Paul Sérusier is one of them. He made a painting named La vieille du Pouldu (i.e. The old woman from Le Pouldu) which represents a breton woman with the Kérou beach as background. It is exposed in Fine Arts Museum in Quimper.
