[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note [French]
Cancale lies along the coast to the east of Saint-Malo. It is a picturesque fishing village popular with visitors many of whom are drawn by its reputation as the «oyster capital» of Brittany. Though a small town it is well served by a large number of restaurants, many specialising in seafood. When not eating one can sit and watch the bustle of this busy little town with many stalls selling crustaceans of all types.

There is a pleasant coastal path which permits a circular walk from the town to the Pointe du Grouin with views across the bay towards Mont Saint Michel. Eugène Feyen painted Cancale and the inhabitants with the oyster-picking Cancalaises for several decades around 1865–1908.Vincent van Gogh wrote that "Eugène Feyen is one of the few painters who pictures intimate modern life as it is really, and does not turn it into fashion plates".

Bonsoir ! Coïncidences, en effet ! Je n'ai même pas eu l'occasion d'aller au bout de la jetée pour avoir une vue panoramique du port... J'ai tenté un petit (...!) WS. J'avoue, j'y suis pas allée de main morte...

Je sens la marée d'ici,j'en aurais bien besoin de cet air iodé et de ces paysages maritimes.J'aime bien la barre de fer rouillée au premier plan.Le paysage urbain est loin derrière ce sable mouillé,je m'y vois faire la traversée à pied.

Belle vue bien typique du fond de la baie du Mont St Michel et qu'il est agréable (hors saison) de venir manger dans ces restaurants.

Looking at thumbnail of this really does no justice as it appeared like muddy beach. But viewing full size photo makes me realize that you do have a muddy beach - for a good reason! It looks a little like Malaysian beaches where the muddy river water flows out to sea and makes the beaches muddy with silt deposits. But this is where nature works wonders. You have oyster! We have no oysters but clams.

Il n'y rien de telle que les marées pour rendre une côte maritime vivante. Ce spectacle changeant est toujours attractif et surprenant. Ton image en rend bien compte d'une façon très agréable. C'est une belle composition, il ne manque que l'odeur d'iode et le vent. Bravo.

Tu as visiblement profité d'une grande marée pour prendre une photo saisissante de toute la baie à sec! Je trouve incroyable l'immensité mise à nu, quand il n'y pas d'eau!
