Billiers

Situé à 2,5 Km au sud de Muzillac, à l'embouchure de la Vilaine, Billiers est un petit port pittoresque au dessus d'un étier desservant jadis des marais salants. Historiquement, Billiers est connu pour son abbaye cistercienne de Prières, fondée par le duc Jean 1er en 1248, qui rayonnait sur toute la rive nord de la Basse Vilaine. La proximité du barrage d'Arzal fait de Billiers une étape entre le golfe du Morbihan et les pays de Vilaine d'une part, la Grande Brière et le pays Guérandais d'autre part.

Located at 2,5 km in the south of Muzillac, in the mouth of Unpleasant, Billiers is a small picturesque port with the top of a étier serving salt-water marshes formerly. Historically, Billiers is known for its Cistercian abbey of Prayers, rested by the duke Jean 1st in 1248, who radiated on all northern bank of Low Unpleasant. The proximity of the dam Arzal makes of Billiers a stage between the gulf of Morbihan and the countries of Unpleasant on the one hand, Large Brière and the Guérandais country on the other hand.
