Photographer’s Note

Before leaving Terrasson, a last view on the old bridge.

It's in the middle of the XIIth Century that the Benedictin Monks (depending from the Abbey), decided the construction of a bridge in the Valley.
The Old Bridge was built in stoneware ans is 104 meters long.
To pass from a bank to the other one, you had to pay. During the wars of the XIIIth and XIVth Centuries, the two first arches on the right bank were destroyed. They were restored by Bertrand de Rouffignac, Abbot of Terrasson, at the end of the XVth Century.
He is classified in Ancient Memorials in June 25th 1904.
