Photographer’s Note

Terrasson, that's also the church of Saint-Sour perched on a hillside, overlooking the old city and the valley.
The construction of the first Abbey began with the arrival of Sorus in 560. Looted by the Normans and then destroyed, the church was rebuilt at the end of the IXth Century. During the XIVth Century the Abbey was destroyed again and abandonned more than 100 years. It's at the beginning of the XVth Century that the church was restored and destroyed again by religious war.
The site stayed in ruins during the biggest part of the Century. In 1889, the Abbot Pergot decided to restore the church with population gifts.
Only the gothic portal of the XVIth century and the ramparts of the former abbey are still here.
