The château de Losse of the 16th century, 1570 or 1576, of Renaissance style, was built on the site of a medieval fortress, by Jean de Losse, in the municipality of Thonac, in Périgord Noir, in the VÉZÈRE VALLEY, on its right bank. The castle in middle of magnificent gardens, is classified as "Historic Monument" since 1932.

Histoire of the Château de Losse.

For several tens of thousands of years, men of the Magdalenian have succeeded in shelters limestone of banks of the VÉZÈRE, the valley is called "LA VALLÉE DE L'HOMME", because of important prehistoric sites there. Prehistoric sites in the valley of the Vézère are classified as World Heritage by UNESCO as a "prehistoric sites and caves with the valley of the Vezere."

_ The VÉZÈRE rises to an altitude of 887 meters, in the Massif Central, on the plateau de Millevaches, in the tourbière de Longéroux, near the Puy Pendu, after a course of 211 kilometers and crossing a watershed of 9656 km², it flows into the Dordogne river in Limeuil in the Dordogne departement. THONAC is a french municipality, located in the department of the Dordogne of the Aquitaine region, populated 260 Thonacois in 2009, distributed out of 11.6 km², that is to say 22.4 hab./km².

In the Périgord noir, The municipality of Thonac is along the Vézère Valley not far of Les Eyzies-de-Tayac-Sireuil. Thonac is close to the municipality of Montignac on the territory of which are the caves of Lascaux.

They are Édouard Lartet, 1801-1871, and Henry Christy, 1810-1865, who began the first searches from 1863 in the cave Richard in Les Eyzies-de-Tayac-Sireuil and in surroundings, and in the valley of Vézère where the numerous and important archaeological discoveries followed one another from 1863 until 1940, when was discovered the grotte of Lascaux.

Bonjour, cher Joël,
Cette percée à travers les arbres et feuillages est de toute beauté.
Le château apparaît, majestueux, dominant le fleuve avec grandeur.
Tandis que des kayakistes pagaient sans se soucier de la beauté environnante.
Je réitère mes compliments pour l'ensemble de ton album et des notes rédigées.

Pas un château de la région n'échappera à ton objectif et ton œil vigilants!Pagayer dans un aussi bel environnement doit être un réel plaisir. Tu as réussi à trouver une ouverture dans la végétation pour cadrer très joliment ce château que l'on voit sous tous les angles grâce à tes WS.

Bonjour Joël,

La présence des kayakistes a un effet d'échelle de grandeur. Les arbres cadrent bien le château. La prise de vue permet de voir une partie des détails et les couleurs de l'architecture du château de Losse. La bonne luminosité valorise les couleurs de l'image. Bonne journée.

You're capturing well this landscape by a good composition and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see an elegant chateau and river surrounded by deep green nature. It's impressive in the green contrast of FG and BG. And, some boats on the river give an additional good effect.

The precious sunlight created an attractive image holding it together. It does look extremely inviting and secluded in greenery, lovely play of light, shades and the effect in this. What a wonderful lighting, interesting composition and unique perspective, it shows how the foliage stands out against the surrounding and the chateau which creates a place for the eye to come to rest on. The colours are amazing and the contrast is superb against the white background. Good work, excellent notes.

come sempre, sai scegliere i POV più interessanti e suggestivi per presentarci i tuoi soggetti. La cornice naturale degli alberi è perfetta per mostrarci questo stupendo castello immerso nel verde, ma soprattutto la scena è piacevolmente animata dalle canoe che ci danno anche la sensazione della grandezza dell'edificio. Ottima composizione, bravissimo!

Bonsoir Joel,
The chateau seems to be hidden within the forest and behinde the curve of the river.
Lovely natural light and colors, the rowers in vivid colored boats adding dynamic scale and taken when approaching the lightened area on water surface.

This beautiful castle is partly hidden among the green trees. All the different shades of green are also in a fine harmony with the colours of the castle. The canoes are adding life and action to the scene.
