A quite corner in the little town of Saint-Aulaye.

Saint-Aulaye is a small pleasant bastide town in the département of the Dordogne, Aquitaine region. It is located 24 kilometres to the west of the market town of Ribérac overlooking the river Dronne.

The name is the masculine version of Saint Eulalie. The name devolves from Sainte-Eulalie de Mérida, who, according to tradition was martyred at the beginning of the 4th century under the Roman Usurper, Maximus of Hispania.

Its economy is mainly dependent on agriculture and tourism.

Extensive information about the town including its history and patrimony can be found in French only on the web site of the Saint-Aulaye Syndicat d'Initiative via this link.
