Photographer’s Note

A last view of the Cathedral of Saint-Front at Périgueux; this time through the entrance to the cloisters. The cloisters were closed as part of the cathedral's restoration and I wasn't able to venture any further.

well balanced composition, contrasting colours bring the image to life with good exposure, beautiful texture and symmetry in the foreground plan and pretty in-depth landscape.
I've done a ws, just for exercise to enhance these qualities. Hope you'll like the result.

Hello Stephen. A cathedral is so large that one discovers new again and again. So for example that the gate elbow (archway) is not Roman. Here is it shown style-mix very clearly. Also this photo shows us the details of this historical building. Best regards, Wolfgang.

Also here have the effect a great attraction.
The cathedral is absolutely beautiful.

Hi Stephen,
Well composed with good balance and proportions. Although you were not favoured by the best of light in the lower half, you made the most of the conditions here. I love these through the arch peeks into miniature worlds and this photo does not disappoint. The eye is teased a little by glimpses of portions of mini arches and the tower at the top, all in fine light. Well conceived and executed, Stephen. Cheers.
