Lac de Beaupuy Photo

Photographer’s Note

This is a lake which is located near Marmande, at the bottom of the hills. Its circumference is around 2-3 km. One can practice fishing, jet ski, water skiing, use playgrounds and do a picnic.

I liked the walk I did there. We were lucky enough to have a beautiful light and I shoot this picture with a backlight at one moment when the sun was half-masked behind the clouds. I was particularily attracted by the reflections of the light in the lake's water.

Voici un lac qui se trouve près de Marmande, au pied des coteaux. Il mesure environ 2-3 km de circonférence. On peut y pratiquer la pêche, le jet ski, le ski nautique et utiliser des aires de jeux et de pique-nique.

J'ai beaucoup aimé la promenade que j'y ai faite. Nous avons eu la chance d'avoir une belle lumière et j'ai profité d'un moment ou le soleil était à demi-masqué derrière de gros nuages pour prendre cette photo à contre jour. J'ai été attiré par les reflets du soleil dans l'eau du lac.

Hi Michael, very nice composition, I like the lines ,,created by the shores of the lake, and the bow created by the row of trees. The backlight makes it wonderful, and immediately makes me want to play with it. I usually do my pos processing in Photoshop, but when I see backlit clouds, I use Paint Shop Pro, I want to make them more dramatic. So, you don’t have to like it, I will just give you another version.

A beautiful and nice infortmative shot,What a nice light!
a peaceful place you show us in a good vertical frame which is nice,a bit bright but I like the shot at all,it gives an appealing feeling to me,nicely composed and Thanks for sharing,Michael,

Bonjour Michael,
C'est une belle composition. Tu as bien su mettre a profit le moment où le soleil est passé derrière ce nuage. Le résultat est très réussi. Si je devais tenter une remarque, je dirais qu'il me semble que tu as un peu "forcé" sur la netteté. Un peu moins net n'aurait pas été plus mal, mais bon, cela reste un beau cliché !

Bonjour Michael,
J'ai presque l'impression d'apercevoir surgir un aigle noir comme dans la chanson de Barbara !
J'aime beaucoup ce ciel aux nuages qui roulent au-dessus de ce lac. L'on sent la présence d'un vent à regarder les vaguelettes qui se forment au bord des rives et des peupliers qui se plient légèrement au gré de ce vent.
Une photographie qui ferait une bien jolie peinture.

Very clever use of the shore line in this one. The way it goes through all the picture guiding our eyes is excellent.

Besides, the clouds and the backlight are great, creating a good dramatic effect.

Maybe it’s just a bit over-sharpened, which brings a certain aggressiveness to a scene which works well with a milder atmosphere, but nothing to serious and easily correctible.

Une belle photo Michael. La beauté de celle-ci provient surtout du ciel, d'où percent les rayons du soleil. Bien fait.

Good compo. Probably you are emphasising the formation of the cloud that creates the good point here and putting the land and the lake to a warmer and darker tone. It's still a good shot where you are able to balancing the bright and dark tone in one piece, like this shot of yours.
If you were to looked more at it, it seem that the land is a little under-exposed but if you were to look at the sky, it is a little over-exposed.
Still, it's a good shot, Michael.

Très bien réussie cettte composition. La courbe nous mermet de commencer le tour du lac. La présence de ces nuages dans le ciel est très bien exploitée pour réussir le contre jour.

You got a very fine result on this shot. The light is really very nice. I like your POV, with the lake converging to the left and the nice line of trees following it. Beautiful colors and good sharpness.
