Lovingly maintained, oyster villages in the municipality of Lege-Cap Ferret are mostly included in the inventory of classified sites.
The town has a total of 9 oyster villages Claouey in Cap Ferret: the villages of the Fur, Jacquets, Petit Piquey Grand Piquey Piraillan, Canon, of Grass and Customs and the Lighthouse.
It is a rite on the Peninsula: we just eat some oysters on the run to the cabin of the oyster farmer. Powered by the Leyre and the tides, the Bassin d'Arcachon, a vast sea garden, became by the quality of its waters an oyster area of ​​prime importance. Since the last century, generations of fishermen parqueurs and gave birth to these neighborhoods with oyster shacks bend, close ranks, to pontoons and breakwaters where swaying their boats.

Its integration site is exceptional and timber hut makes it easy to absorb the natural environment of the banks. At the time of their construction, there are more than a century, wood was cut in the forest usagère of Tests; that tradition continues today. Today, the village of Grass is probably the most important of these oyster villages built on land in the maritime public domain.

They represent an exceptional portfolio of nearly 500 cabins, 155 cabins with an oyster-related activity, 121 residential recreational cabins and 193 cellars to sort.

Oyster villages in the municipality of Lege-Cap Ferret are located on the maritime public domain, that is to say, an estate belonging to the State.

The town hall has been named the managing 8 villages in 2001 and the village of Four became communal management in 2012.

A committee composed of elected officials, professionals and boaters, issues permits for temporary occupation (AOT) to occupants of huts.
