Photographer's Note
Every month, I am part of a group of photographers, and we have a theme to fullfill. In december, this was "the railsways station" in B&W only. 2 hours wandering in the station to look for interesting shots. Here, I was on a bridge overlooking the tracks, and I lean the camera on the railing in order to try to avoid the blurr due to the low speed used. Not perfect at the background!

Hi Simonin,
Good conception, the lonely person fulfill the situation. I like it.
Thanks,

Salut Claude !
And here is the kind of composition in which a lonely person makes the difference of "be or not to be".
Yes, B/W is the best choice in scenes like this one, great dynamics of the arriving train. I remember, about ten years ago, I travelled on TGV board from Bordeaux to Paris, it was an immense experience to me.
Best regards !

Hi Claude. Movement and stillness. My compliments for this successful composition. The black and white version looks excellent.

Hello Claude
So you post a monochrome photograph as well. Clearly neither of us are chasing points! This is your home town, and the train doesn't seem to be stopping, judging by the amount of motion blur. I like the clean diagonal sweep of lines and movement, and the lone figure is key to the composition. The background may betray a little camera-shake, but so what? I think it adds to the gritty, urban, grab-shot feel that b/w does so well.
Regards
Will

The blur - both of the moving train and of the BG - actually has quite a nice effect here, Claude, isolating the man in the lower right as the only crisp clear object in frame. It adds to the solitary nature of the shot.
Another wonderful aspect of this is the train itself - blurred consistently through the whole shot, corner to corner, making it difficult at first to tell what it is at all. There's a bit of an abstract feel here, as is your style, and it's a good one.

Hi dear Claude, how are you?
Sorry for my late reaction to you again!
Great setting slow shutter speed to compare him and trains. Gretaest effect! B&W color is also so tasteful.
Great shot indeed!
Thanks for sharing with your finest job and have a good Sat.!

Claude

Merci Clodo.

Hello Clodo,
An exciting picture (the B&W emphasize that extra),
because there is a lots of movement in the picture.
Also nice are the diagonal lines: that creates a
nice depth in the picture......Good work.

Hi Claude,
You're capturing well this daily life by a good angle and excellent B/W tone, so it's impressive to see the train with the moving effect by low shutter speed. And, the man waiting for the another train draws out a good impact in this image.
Kind regards,
mikio

Salut Claude,

Bravo
Chris
