Good Morning Claude,

Not only is the staircase rectangular, but it has a predominance of lovely pastel shades, quite harmonious. Your viewpoint produces the effect of a fine abstract pattern, emphasising the rectangular shape in many sizes and colours.

Et moi qui croyait qu'il fallait arrondir les angles :-)
Une belle variation sur le thème de la spirale, un joli traitement qui attire le regard par la variation subtile des teintes et de l'éclairage en progressant en profondeur dans l'image.

Hello Claude,
Your image is very effective at catching the eye of a passing viewer: It caught mine. I like the gradation of colours from the darker foreground to the well-lit central background. I also like the slight apparent tilt to the right. It is like an optical illusion puzzle that needs to be deciphered.

Ce "tableau moderne" m'intrigue au plus haut point; je ne crois pas souffrir de dyslectie et pourtant mon cerveau refuse d'imaginer un escalier! Je vois bien des marches de chaque côté mais elles me semblent monter de part et d'autre.
La preuve que l'image est captivante!

Looking closely actually there are many straight lines forming rectangle in this shot and is up to us to decipher and visualise it. But what more exciting is how you spot this and start figure out and visualise, the light, shapes and colours make an interesting 'natural abstract' The brain recognises immediately what lies ahead.
