Une belle image bien nette avec de superbes détails de textures. Les couleurs très naturelles sont charmantes et le fond sombre et uni met bien la silhouette du... calao? (hornbill) en valeur.

J'ai bien l'impression que c'est Marine qui a gagné le filet garni!
Je dirai même Calao Papou (après quelques recherches sur internet!)
Joli portrait de ce rouquin un peu dégarni, il se détache parfaitement sur ce fond gris foncé.

the beak looks like that of a toucan, the neck - like that of a vulture :) good enough for the basket? :)
jokes aside - great shot, the tight framing adds to the intensity of the bird's gaze, and shallow depth of field is essential to isolate the bird. superb level of detail, especially on the leatherly-looking texture below the beak.

Phillipe,

This is a very curious beast - looking rather like it's been patched together from various bits of other birds or animals.

I have to admit I'm not a great fan of widlife parks, zoos and the like - I'm cage squeemish - but I can still appreciate a decent portrait.

For the record, I think the bitd's name is Frank. :)
