Photographer’s Note
A small blue hour shot of the hospital of the Hôtel-Dieu dug out from my archives. This hospital is composed of buildings constructed in the seventeenth and nineteenth century, the foundation dating back to the sixth century. François Rabelais practiced as a doctor of the hospital from 1532 to 1534.
The modernization plan will lead to a suspension of any activity on the site of the Hôtel-Dieu in 2011.
It appears that historic buildings might be converted into shops, and luxury hotel accommodations, but no official decision has yet been made.

Salut Philippe,

Hi Philippe,
a wonderful blue hour shot, I really like the stripes of the airplanes here, somehow they give the image a nice touch. The reflections on the water are beautiful, too and the hospital is beautifully lit. Great one, I like it a lot!
Take care

Hi Philippe,
I like all those lines in the sky, they give that part really something extra, but of course the lights from the building and his reflection in the water work also pretty good in here...

Henk

Bonsoir Philippe

Hi Philippe,
A beautiful blue hour capture. I like the enlightement of the building and an excellent contrast with a blue hour sky. Perfect timing for the best hour of the day, excellent light managment. Well done!

Darek

Bonjour Philippe,
Yves.

hello Philippe,
this is really great shot. I love the reflection on the surface of the water a lot. I could say you were in the right place at the right time. Your photo should be framed and sold as a postcard:) Very well taken.
regards

Hi Philippe:
This is a good blue hour shot on its own, and normally I would say that contrails hurt the image. But in this case, the way the contrails criss-cross combined with the criss crossing patterns in the water is a really cool effect. Great shot, I love it. You did a good job of adding a lot of texture to spaces that would otherwise be pretty boring.
