Photographer’s Note

L'atmosphère est un gaz en ébullition lente.
Tout est fugace, tout est fragile.
Les nuages se forment et disparaissent.
Il fait froid, il fait chaud.
Les idées germent et passent.
Il n'y a rien de palpable.
Rien n'est constant sauf le changement.

Alors je reste fixé sur mon arbre.
Je m'accroche à ses racines rassurantes.
Je sais qu'il est là. Qu'il ne partira pas.
Je repose mon esprit.

The atmosphere is a gas in slow boiling over.
All is fugacious, all is fragile.
The clouds are formed and disappear.
The weather is cold, is hot.
The ideas germinate and pass.
There is nothing palpable. Nothing is constant except change.

Then I remain fixed on my tree.
I cling to his reassuring roots.
I know that it is there. That it will not leave.
I rest my spirit.

Bonjour Bertrand,
Sympathique utilisation de la courbe de ces nuages pour donner une bonne dynamique à cet arbre.
La compo est comme d'habitude parfaite, la place laissée à la verdure au premier plan balance bien avec le ciel tourmenté.

Hi Bertrand, brilliant perspective of the clouds overhanging the tree and fence against the foliage of green grass. Good depth of colour and sharpnes.

Jolie vue d'un charmant endroit que je qualifierais de tranquille si ce n'était ce ciel:-)très beau mais peu engageant pour une balade.
De belles couleurs et un bon cadrage avec cette clôture qui mène le regard au loin.

Lovely composition here: the lonely tree standing against the wind is well placed and captured with the fence on the right leading the eye to it. The clouds in the background complete the scene.

Superbe composition, dans ses proportions notamment. Une lumière un peu "sombre" suggère une atmosphère un peu lourde. L'arbre est droit, digne, mais les barrières du premier plan, qui font porte semble-t-il; ont plié sous le vent peu-on imaginer.La simplicité de prim'abord du sujet laisse l'imagination gamberger et çà c'est la force de cet type d'image.

Auprès de mon arbre....
Il y a des belles barrière une super perspective bien envoyée au loin et aussi au final de "l'athmosphère" avec cette lumière.

Bonjour Bertrand -

A simple but powerful image. I do like the contrast of the green field and tree against the stormy sky. The exposure, DOF, and sharpness appears to be spot on. Well Done!

I looked at the WS and the B&W conversion was well done and deserves some merit. Keeping the tree in green though was nice but a straight B&W conversion also works.

Un ciel mi figue mi raison…raisin je voulais dire pour cette photo.
Cet endroit me fait penser au « Creux du Van » endroit visité lors de la rencontre TE en Suisse…Décor plus ou moins identique.
Simplement mais bien photographier.

Hola Bertrand...very simple & yet Very powerful. Love the graphics created with the lonely tree and the fence which ends in the horizon leading one in. And those clouds...superb. Maybe a little underexposure on the clouds at the top & left would add even greater impact to an allready Great capture.

Un arbre solitaire,qui du haut de sa colline,regarde le temps q'il fera bientôt.L'heure de la douche s'en vient.
Belle compo.et bon contraste de l'arbre contre ces nuages qui donnent aussi l'atmosphère.

Your note is so apropos and the shot demonstrates well the anchoring effect of a lone tree. Here the dramatic and threatening sky is matched by the steadfast tree. Your POV is well chosen, there is good depth, and the fence line angles nicely through the scene. Very fine work.

Bertrand cet arbre est en effet un solide point de fixation dans ce paysage. L'herbe et la barrière sont là comme faire-valoir. Le ciel est aussi bien présent avec de beaux nuages.

J'aime beaucoup le titre, qui colle trés bien à la photo : l'arbre, bien planté sur ses racines, avec même une petite barrière pour lui délimiter son petit arpent du bon Dieu, et les nuages qui s'écoulent au gré du vent. Sinon, la perpective diagonale de la clôture est trés bien venue.

Bel arbre posté près de sa cloture aux piquets irréguliers. Tout était encore bien vert lorsque tu a pris cette image. Son feuillage doit à présent brun-roux ou bien simplement déjà à terre.
Belle image et jolie note: une invitation à des joies bucoliques...
