Photographer's Note

The needle is the arrival point of the cable car Aiguille du Midi. Its upper station is located at 3,777 meters altitude, but to achieve end-to 3,842, there is an elevator.
L'Aiguille du Midi is one of the starting points of the White Valley (Vallée Blanche) and the Panoramic Mont Blanc gondola that crosses the Glacier du Géant to Punta Helbronner. It is located on the border with Italy, has an altitude of 3,462 meters, and from it you can see the Valle d'Aosta and Piedmont region of Italy.
On August 4, 1818 was reached the north summit of l'Aiguille du Midi by A. Malczewski, J.M. Balmat and five guides. Subsequently, on August 5, 1856, J. A. Devouassoux and A. and J. Simond reached the south summit.

I can understand why this climb is so named Charo. Your image has underlined the other-worldliness of the location. Peeping through cloud down to glistening snow with the play of light and shade is breathtaking. And the people - they look like ants in another universe. Really top class work and very well managed under quite tricky light. Warm regards rosemary

Hello Charo, oh what a change of scenery, i was used to your images of sunny Greece :) Great composition here, almost like enetering into a different world. So many tones of the same color (don't know yet which exactly is that).

Ciao Charo,

Emilius

Hi Charo
A good and impressive mountain picture with the clouds covering the peaks, and the small human silhouettes giving the scale. The fences lead the look on them. Good play of the lights through the clouds.

Bonjour Charo
bon week end

Hola Charo,
An excellent capture of a rather unusual winter scenery in the high mountains.
The fences and the people to which they lead are an important element in this almost black & white composition.
The light on some parts of the landscape is really wonderful.
Best regards, Paul

Howdy Charo,
Dramatic and mystic vision of the iconic Chamonix Mont Blanc, for the swirling snow cloud, fence leading onward, and a glimpse of the Mont.
Ironically, one of my favorite condo rentals in Mammoth Lakes has a Chamonix Mont Blanc skiing poster above the fireplace.
Have fun, and stay healthy,
Sincerely,
Ray

Me gusta, me trae bonitos recuerdos.
Un abrazo,
Josep

Amazing how small the people figures on the mighty ridge, Charo.
The nature in a great performance, with the cloud sit on mountains, and your POV show with grand depth and clearuty. WB well managed as well.

Buongiorno Charo,
Buona serata

Wow! Awesome capture of this very cold looking winter scene! Living in Las Vegas protects me from all those snow but we do get tiny amount sometimes. Good control of the lighting and good dof with nice details. Very well done, tfs.
