Chamonix at lunch time, sunshine, people taking a walk, not so cold temperatures, no wind

I enjoyed it a lot !

Chamonix-Mont-Blanc or, more commonly, Chamonix is a commune in the Haute-Savoie department in the Rhône-Alpes region in south-eastern France. It was the site of the 1924 Winter Olympics. The commune's population of around 9800 ranks 865th within the nation of France.
Situated near the massive peaks of the Aiguilles Rouges, Chamonix shares both the summit of Mont Blanc and the title of highest commune in France with its neighboring commune, Saint-Gervais-les-Bains. The commune is well known and loved by skiers and by mountain athletes of all types. Mont Blanc, at a height of 4810 meters, is the third most visited natural site in the world. This lends the area a notably cosmopolitan atmosphere. With an area of 95 square miles, Chamonix is the fourth largest commune in mainland France.

Le personnage en jaune et le bâtiment ocre à gauche équilibrent parfaitement cette image à dominante froide crée par l'arrière plan.

A composição que conjuga a bela e tradicional arquitetura da cidadezinha e as montanhas altíssimas, nevadas e com estações de esqui ao redor ficou um espetáculo!

Hola Aires, this is a great winter photo. We had a very hot day here today, so seeing snow and mountains is very refreshing. The colours and POV are excellent, as is the DOF. You have managed the shade very well and the light on those building is beautiful. Great work, Lisa.

Estupenda presentación de esta plaza con la montaña al fondo. Supongo que no era fácil caminar por la calle pues el suelo parece estar helado.
Muy bien captada la fría atmósfera y excelente luz.

this town has amazing location.
The mountains make amazing background for the townhouses. The architecture looks very pretty as well.

Ainda não estive em Chamonix e penso que não deve ser muito barato. Por esta razão uma pessoa tem que estar bem preparada. Pelo menos nas viagens que faço a França tem um custo de vida muito elevado em relação aos portugueses de classe média. ( Meu caso ). Estive uma vez de passagem em Sierra Nevada mas estava alojado em Granada. ( Excursão ). Gostei e penso voltar por minha conta. ( Nestas férias fotografei com uma olympus mas não estou muito satisfeito por sempre acho as cores carregadas. Quero dizer com isto que tenho de ajustar cada foto. mas nada tem a haver com os ASA 100 ou 200. Mesmo em modo automático a máquina deveria ser mais perfeita. Ainda assim irei falar com alguém experiente e tenho também um CD da câmara para ver. Puxa quando fotografava com rolo de papel as tonalidades eram tão boas. Isto para não falar em diapositivos. Nesta foto parece já ser o crepúsculo como se pode ver pela montanha. Nesta praça é interessante rodeada de bons hotéis. A presença humana se torna bem notada por este casal bem equipado para o frio. Meus cumprimentos com amizade. Domingos

This is a fine presentation of this alpine town, showing the fine old architecture in the mountainous setting!
The ochre house stands out and catch my eyes, and the walking ladies add some life to the quiet street...
