Photographer’s Note

Palais de l'Isle ('old prison') is the symbol of Annecy and is among the most photographed monuments in all of France.
It was built in 1132. Due to its triangular shape, it reminds the prow of a galley anchored in the river.
In 12th century Palais de l'Isle was a residence of the Lord of Annecy. Later became the Count of Geneva’s administrative headquarters. From the Middle Ages until 1865 and during World War II there was a jail. Today Palais de l'Isle houses a history museum.

The photo was taken in the evening, is it why is dark :)
