Photographer’s Note

There was a big fire locally on Saturday. These planes fly down to the lake to scoop up water which they then dump on the fire. Amazing how low they fly above the bridge, very quickly causing traffic chaos.

Indeed!!! That is LOWWWW!!! Forget any of the technicalities (it would have been nice to have the nose in shot), this really shows a dramatic side to fire fighting, without the fire even being in shot. If you don't mind me asking was this a planned shot, or one taken on the spur. Either way it must have been loud and windy where you were standing and I think you did a very good job and composed the scene really well with the oncoming traffic, bridge and bystanders. Casper

Hi Rob,
Quite an action shot, that plane was really close. Haphazard framing actually emphasized intensity of the situation. Those brigh colours work well. Do you know what model is it?
