Oh, the ‘dog days of summer,’ they can sure be draining…and it appears they got the best of this fella. Either that, or he’s extremely well behaved and is just relaxing while his owner takes care of all the hard labor.
Whatever the case, it was the perfect opportunity for a picture…especially since this good looking dog was so docile and eager to sit still for my camera. I think the vendor was a little jealous that all of the attention was being directed at her four-legged friend, so she decided to make an appearance as well. Dumb luck again on my part, I was able to get them together.
Although the title is in direct reference to this vendors product, it’s also a fun play on words again. This may sound repulsive to many, but cheese dogs are a relatively common food item here in the U.S. (mostly geared towards children)…a hotdog which has been filled with…well, what else…cheese. I’m fairly sure most people know about hotdogs, but if not, the easy explanation is that they consist of “everything but the squeal.” Enjoy. :)
Thanks for stopping by.

Lovely image of the contented dog which looks the identical image of my deceased dad`s dog. Not sure the Health and Safety Officer would be very pleased but a well seen shot.

I know all about the "hair of the dog" but not the cheese dog! But then I know you have lots of different doggie connotations in the US - food wise that is (Steady - this could get out of hand so to speak! :-/ )
Another of your original and wonderful street images that I am sure you take so that you can open up an opportunity for some free samples. When it comes to cheese I would be right with you on this one. It is the one food that I find irresistible, despite being warned about its impact on my cholesterol. Love doggies too and really miss the ones my parents had as well as the ones we had whilst growing up at home.
Take it easy you old sun-blasted corn-dog!

Je me souviens de mon chien et de son amour pour le fromage. Il aimait beaucoup et nous le laissait savoir. C'est une des seule chose qui faisait qu'il n'écoutait pas les consignes. Je me demande comment celui-ci réussit.

The lady seller is not jealous, as any dog-owner feel pride that her dog is a model for the photo.
also, it is amazing to see such a dog lay quietly - most times this specie is vibrant and really need to run a lot.
Nice taken the moment, beautiful subject to choose.

I am massive dog lover and I really like the fact that the woman seems not to be to bothered by the fact that the her pupil is so close to the cheese. Sometimes I think that people who concentrate to much on the hygiene miss a lot of fun in life. These two look perfectly content with theirs :-)
I also like your POv and the whole composition full of so many interesting details. Well spotted and nicely executed.
Thanks for sharing

Again I must admit that I enjoy your comments very much. And I also enjoy very much your excellent photos, many superb snapshot (I'm strong supporter of "not stated" photos). This one is excellent with a lot of humor sense. Why I say so? I just feel with the dog laying under the table loaded with cheese without being allowed to taste a bit of it. The dog is not interested in your camera, however the lady nicely posing. The light is very good and the colors nicely balanced.

Great play on words, this docile canine looks very happy to pose in your shot, and the woman looks quite surprised to see you! To be honest, I am not a fan of cheese really, and don't think I have ever seen a cheese dog, but I do like hot dogs (too much) and I do like regular dogs (I have one at my feet right now). Great result on this candid work, an area of photography I like very much, but am terrible at!
Have a good Friday, with best wishes from soggytown.

an interesting street scene with strong eye contacts. A very good layout for a spontaneous shot, you managed to include a lot of details and set off the two characters. There's an effective connection between them and, since they are looking at you so expressively, you've become part of the story too. I like very much the dynamic network created by the perspective, the diagonals and the lady's posture. The colours and the textures are stunningly natural, I get the feeling that, after viewing for a few minutes, I now know a lot about these two and their daily life. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great day,

Hi, my friend,
I see this street market gave to you a lot of ideas for the photos. Funny story, well, I think the vendor wants to get you attention too. But you chose a dog ;)
Another interesting photo from Nice.

I am familiar with the American hotdog, in fact, in my student days, used to sell them outside a pub in the Red Light district of Sydney alla my literary hero Ignatius J.Reilly from the masterpiece A Confederacy of Dunces. So your photo of this cheese dog, certainly takes my fancy, and brings to mind Ignatius' famous quote, “I am at the moment writing a lengthy indictment against our century. When my brain begins to reel from my literary labors, I make an occasional cheese dip.”
With the combination of cheese, puppies and cheese dogs, you could not go wrong. And I love your note.
Fondest regards and well-wishes, thank you for sharing with us your theology, geometry, taste and decency :)

I am glad you let the sleeping dog lie. A very cute pose of the relaxed dog with the busy owner.

The dog was the main subject :)
Interesting market scene

Seems you got a good series there :)! Very well framed with the dog calmly resting on his little corner. You framed him very well with the cheese and the seller looking at you, maybe wondering why you are so interested on the dog:)! Another good daily scene!
