Photographer’s Note

This view of the Port of Nice is taken from Le Chateau, a promontory that overhangs the city. This is really a quiet area with some little meadows, fountains and woods where people go to relax from the bustle of the town. Despite Nice is a big city, its port has not commercial purposes and it is used only by pleasure craft. The only exception are some ferries for passenger that go mainly to the Corse.

Magnificent view and superb photograph!
The privileged high pov was very well chosen and the composition is quite effective and truly attactive, specially by placing those plants in the very fg!
Level of sharpness is pretty suitable to the image, exposure and colors are excellent!

Incredible view, the city with its colorful buildings of different styles, the multitude of white boats of different sizes, the blue sea, the distant hills, the sun-lighted cactuses in on the FG...

Hello Gabriele,

I recognised this place immediately from your thumbnail. It is very similar to a shot I took from what could be almost the same place.
The scene is exhillarating but what I particularly like about your shot is the use of the triangular section of cactii, in the f/g which sets your pov and gives a fine context to the shot.

I hope you enjoyed your time in Nice as much as I did.

Spectacular view. That rectangula port surrounded by classic buildings is impressive. Big yachts give idea how rich and famous like to spend time there. Foreground with cacti look nice too.

Très beau point de vue du port de Nice, j'en cherchais un comme ça à peine un an plus tôt ;)
Bon choix de mettre les cactus en avant-plan, ça ajoute le fort sentiment d'arridité de mon souvenir!

Well composed picture with good sharpness and nice colours, not only showing almost the complete port of Nice but also the green hills that surround the city and a part of the little park in the centre high above the town from where you have this special view.
I think this must be the most beautiful view on Nice that you can have anywhere.

This is i think my favorite photo i've seen of France.
