Notre-Dame of Val-Romigier, Mornas

In Mornas, the romanesque chapel Notre-Dame du Val-Romigier 9th 11th 12th centuries, which was the parish church until 1871.

The chapel is at the foot of the Mornas fortress quoted from the 10th century.

MORNAS is a French commune located in the department of Vaucluse, of the area Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, populated of 2 292 Mornassiens in 2009, divided on 26.1 km², that is to say 87.8 hab./km².

Mornas is mentioned for the first time in the 9th century, 818.

Mornas was originally owned by the Aniane abbey, in Hérault, in Languedoc-Roussillon.

Hello Joël,

Fantastique captage de Notre Dame avec la belle roche en fond, le cimetière dans le cadrage, quelle architecture et mise en valeur son placemetn dans l'image est parfait on voit trois tons différents dans limage, sueprbe.

A splendid Sunday morning image. I like the point of view, which shows the architecture of the church to good effect and allows us to appreciate its setting. Interesting light and shadow contrasts and very good clarity. Bon dimanche.

non ho visto questa chiesa, ma ricordo molto bene Mornas, fu una piacevole sorpresa, il paesino è molto carino e storico, il castello sulla cima della roccia dominava tutta la vallata.
Un piacevole ricordo.

La montagne aide au cadrage de l'image. La prise de vue permet de vcoir les détails et les couleurs de l'architecture de l'église Notre-Dame de Val-Romigier et du cimetière. La bonne luminosité met en valeur les couleurs de l'image. Bon dimanche.

beautiful postcard like view. I like the charming church. Your POV allows us to appreciate the interesting location next to to mountain. The cemetery makes an atmospheric foreground. Great side light which makes a 3D feeling.

Bonjour Joel,

Nous avons très peu de cimetière de ce genre au Québec. Il faut dire que ce doit être bien difficile de creuser dans le roc. La contre plongée donne une belle ampleur à l'église.

I notice that you still have very pleasant weather "down there"! A very pretty church, close to the steep rock. The graves provide a good regular pattern and your note is very interesting too.

Le cadre splendide de cette église et fabuleux POV, d'un point élevé, ce qui augmente le point de vue environnemental, il ressemble beaucoup au cimetière avant, la colline rocheuse en arrière-plan et le bâtiment, arborant une belle luminosité.
C'est un bon travail, nous allons découvrir un autre beau coin de votre pays.

Bonsoir Joël,

Le site dans lequel la chapelle a été construite est tout à fait étonnant, au pied des falaises de calcaire. Comme pour bon nombre d'édifices romans, elle se trouve au milieu du cimetière ! Beau point de vue d'ensemble, et note toujours aussi instructive !

Hello Joel,

You're capturing well this place by a good composition and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see lovely church and cemetery in front of church. It's elegant and good for the grave, too. It is impressive to stand still at one corner surrounded by the rocky mountain quietly.

its amazing to think that this was built from the 9th to 12th centuries...amazing!
a charming chapel, and an elegant cemetery, the rock face in the bg is strangely appealing too.
