Photographer's Note
This was well worth getting up early to travel from Nice to catch the morning light and see Menton came to life. Unfortunately I couldn’t get there any sooner to grab the best light, when this scene has a warm golden tone to the start off the day. For whatever my opinion is worth, I believe this is one of the grandest jewels along La Côte d'Azur
Menton lies on the French-Italian border, on the edge of a bay between Monaco and the Italian Riviera. There is sunshine 331 days of the year plus a perfect microclimate and no mosquitoes. You have the Alpes Maritimes mountains behind and the Mediterranean in front, plus inspiring Italian architecture and French cuisine. You can ski in the mountains in the morning and swim in the Mediterranean in the evening.
*Not sure if it's the compressed file size or something else, but looking at this again compared to my original, I'm noticing a big difference in sharpness and detail!?

Hello Jason,
The differently coloured houses built on the hill are a wonderful sight.
I like the inclusion of the big rocks on the foreground.
Best regards, Paul

Jason,
great composition of this beautiful landscape. The rocks in the foreground slightly imitate the line of the cityscape - just in opposite direction. The see between these two layers adds some life and makes the whole scene much lighter. Lovely colors and sharpness.
Well done

hi Jason,
good guiding line of the rocks, then the growing city
maybe with a lower POV you could keep them, the rocks, as FG, but having less of them - almost the half of the picture, although your main theme was the city...
I hope you don't mind
regards
jános

Hi Jason,
Excellent tranquil landscape (townscape) in perfect light and nice colors. You have made a good attempt here, choosing to go in tight on the rocks. The composition works well, and the focus with deep DOF draws the attention not only to the rocks but also to the river with the town houses. The photo itself is very well-exposed. Asymmetrical toll church arrangement creates excellent balance and harmony. Excellent!!!
p.s. Thank you for your nice comment to "Going appart"
Usually I'm taking window seat only during day flights. In such way my camera is sitting with me.

Hello Jason,
A beautiful and rough surrounding and a picture
with a lots of details, but isn't to busy thanks
to the great composition. The lines, the stones
on the forground and the layers creates a nice
depth. Light management is also great.
Friendly regards,
Robert

Hi Jason,
I have to say the name of this title in a Jamaican accent :)
What a stunning scene, and a great title to it too. These villages spread over the hillsides like this are always so appealing, particularly with such an array of colour. Brilliant idea to have the rocks in the foreground, it adds excellent depth, and breaks the shot really ncely into thirds.
ALl the best
Noel
