Without question, one of the best spots in town!
The Palais Longchamp is a monument in the 4me quartier of Marseille, France. It houses the city's Musée des Beaux-Arts and Natural History museum. The surrounding park (the Parc Longchamp) is listed by the French Ministry of Culture as one of the Notable Gardens of France.
The colonnaded structure, built in the 1860s, was designed in part to disguise a château d'eau (water tower) at the terminus of an aqueduct from the River Durance. The building of this water storage and the associated canals and aqueducts was a major turning point in the history of Marseille as it allowed the city to expand, building new districts. One of these was the Boulevard Longchamp, laid out by the city then developed by private business people who profited from providing a grand boulevard of similarly styled, gracious houses.

Wonderful night shot. Excellent control of the lighting and very colorful as well. It is nicely compose setting that lets the eye flow as smoothly as the water spraying up from the pond. Excellent shot.
Have a nice evening,

interesting photo with nice symmetrical composition and well tight frame. Very good light management resulting in pretty and saturated colors. I like also the idea of shooting this object at night which definietly adds to the whole result.
Thanks for sharing

By this picture I can see that you have well thought:
the picture is in harmony and in symmetry (okay, one
tree had its own will :-)) and that means that used
a great point of view and composition. The vertical
position emphasize extra and also the layers in the
picture (makes the Palais Longchamp extra higher and
the picture exciting). Light management is also great.

I don't know the place personally, but it seems really interesting and with this composition you're showing some beautiful details of the fountain. You got a good shot with the long exposure!

Thanks for the great notes that accompany your shots in your gallery, makes so much to the shot to be able to learn from it too.
I compare the 1860's to now, back then, we have built a water tower, we must hide it from view by building a magnificent monument with statues and fountains. Today, we need a new water tower, but sadly there is no money to build one. I wonder will the world ever see great works of sculpture like this again?
The black sky is superb to highlight the monument and the cool use of the light, and kudos for the perfect symettry. Really class shot, thanks
