Comme le public s'ennuie un peu par mes photos des gens, je propose aujourd'hui quelque chose de différent.

J'ai passé deux matinées à Marseille au mois de mars.
Deux fois quatre heures, ce qui m'a suffit pour tomber amoureuse de cette ville cosmopolite.

As the audience a little bored with my pictures of people, today I propose something different.

I spent two mornings in Marseille in March.
Two, four hours, which was enough to fall in love with this cosmopolitan city.

Marseille!. Une belle représentation très très contrastée. Au premier abord je trouvais trop contrasté mais je pense que cet effet a pour avantage de gommer les choses indésirables pour ne garder que l'essentiel!.

hello grazyna,

the difference between FG and BG, sky (heaven :p) and ground, left and right look charming. i think this must be presented much much bigger in order to enjoy all the details. this photo reminded me of photos developed in darkrooms and printed by engrandiseurs. beautiful use of bw.

ah pas mal du tout, comme une ancienne vue de la ville, j'aime ce noir et blanc contrasté entre chaque côté, j'aime le cadrage vertical, j'aime la prise de vue depuis le haut de la colline,j'aime cette perspective, enfin tu l'auras compris j'aime cette photo

Dziwne, odlotowe, jak po dożylnym wspomaganiu... Ale podoba mi się. Jest tu ciekawa jakość.

Grazyna,

I've eaten pizza and gotten drunk on cheap wine there in Marseille, that looks like the same street. Is there a "smashed sandwich" kiosk at the far end of this street? If so, I walked to it after drinking and got one of those Panini very late in the evening. The next day I took care of my hangover at the Maritime Museum. Lovely memories of a sailor on liberty in France, and a street you have shown (in high contrast, no less) to remind me of those days gone past.

Urbanistique mon amour...

Zaszokowany ilez to udalo ci sie wyciagnac z 200mm.
To wyglada na 500mm. albo i wiecej (?)

Grazynko...
Tak dlugo jak jest inne od wszystkich pospolitych chlamow-widoczkow miejsko - wiejskich (na tysiace ich trzeba liczyc !) - tak dlugo bedziesz zadziwiac.
Nie ma innej drogi dla myslacego fotografa.

znam ta rue, 14 miesiecy temu dokladnie w tym miejscu stalem... szkoda, ze schrzanione znowu kontrasty i taka mocna pikselizacja na niebie... nie wiem o co codzi, ale cos tam zle majstrujesz ostatnio przy zdjeciach...

Imponujący widok i imponujące wykonanie. Na ostrych kontrastach, z nieżyczliwymi cieniami a przecież wszystko doskonale zbalansowane. Trzy gracja i ogrodzenie remontowe bardzo dobre w pierwszym planie, gorszy fragment samochodu po prawej, ale też prawdziwy :)
Mnie tam się bardzo podoba i nie wiem, o co chodzi jurkowi b. :)) Pikselizacji, żadnej nie widzę. Pewnie pora umyć monitor ;))

Je connais un peu Marseille, L'ambiance de cette ville y est très bien rendue, avec cette rue étroite qui descend vers le port. La chaussée est à l'ombre, la lumière pourtant inonde le sommet des bâtiments, comme souvent dans les villes du midi.

so different one from you but i am still impressed how you masterfully presented the depth of "your love" :)
incredible perspective, very smart use of the triple figures and the vertical format. even if it is a french city being presented, the strong b&w contrast still has polish veins. i like a lot how i can see all the "black to white" scale from bottom to the top.

Hi Grazyna,

I wouldn't worry about what the audience wants. But I do think this is a tremendous photo-Not just the processing, but the sheer scale of it-It makes Marseilles look like this huge metropolis. Most would probably leave out the sky, and lose the impact.

Le coté contraste élevé a l'avantage de "gommer" les détails indésirables au premier plan (grilles de chantier). Le choix de l'emplacement de la prise de vue est idéal et rend bien la spécificité de l'urbanisme à Marseille.

Nice to be back inside your gallery.

A true amazing picture that really manages to portrait all the brutality of the city. Simply fascinating.

Here is a photo one million times better and much more catching, with more soul and vibrancy than the super produced sterile pictures (considered supreme art) I have seen lately in some exquisite photography sites.

Thank you for the roughness and for the true soul of photography!
