A view of the interior of the parish church at Fontvieille, which also featured in yesterday's post.
A gift of land by the abbot of Montmajour allowed the construction of the parish church in Fontvieille, Provence. Completed in 1695, the facade was rebuilt in 1765. The height of the clock tower was extended in 1866, which explains the different styles of the two towers.
The church has a high altar in marble, dated 1874. On the altar front are five marble statues representing Christ surrounded by saints. The church is dedicated to Saint Peter in Chains (in French - St Pierre Es Liens).

I love the sensation of depth you caught here, it feels so very real I could step inside and go exploring. The colors of the interior are soft and very pleasing too.

Ciao e buona serata

What a cracking shot of this interior.
The colours are soft and very restful.Lots of detail and you were lucky not to have the public hanging around.

Hi Stephen. One of your specialties are the interiors of churches. The interior design of this church looks simple and functional. Light plays a special role here.

Excellent interior photo. I like the nice light and the symmetrical composition with the altar in the centre. The straight view is very good. The horizontal symmetrical arrangement works very well here. Well done.

Good sharpness and graphism enhanced by the lit arches that nicely frame the bg crucifixion scene. Good repetition of the chairs and the warm cold colour contrast between the cream and violet colors is excellent. TfS!
