Fontvieille is a French commune located in the department of Bouches-du-Rhône and the region Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur. Its inhabitants, of which there were 3594 in 2009, are called Fontvieillois. There is evidence of human occupation in the area dating back over 4000 years. The commune was founded in 1790 from an area formerly belonging to the city of Arles.
Located near Arles in the southwest of the Alpilles massif and north of La Crau, it is a town that makes its living mainly from agriculture, including wine production, and especially tourism. Indeed, for a town of its size there are an inordinate number of hotels and restaurants.
The climate in the Alpilles is in fact highly conducive to tourism. Mediterranean in nature, the winters are mild and dry and summers hot and dry. The average maximum temperature is observed in July and August (29 ° C), the minimum average temperature occurs in December and January (3 ° C) . The month with most rain is January with 7 days on average compared with two in July. Major frosts are rare, although they were more common in the nineteenth century.

After critiquing the photo that follows yours, I was immediately attracted by the lovely light and dappled shade.Attractive colours and architecture create a serene ambiance. Pity about the steel posts, but people do tend to park anywhere. Regards. Klaudio.

The posts add a graphic touch as well as good repetition. Excellent backlighting on the green leaves and superb sharpness and framing. The cyan doors of the church contrast well against the red umbrellas at left. Nice fg shadow play. Tfs!

you have made good use of a lovely light to show the charm of the area very well, using the trees as a good frame for the shot.
I just wonder,is the clock the correct time,is it AM or PM? Where are the tourists?
Best regards Les.

another interesting architecture shot here. The building is beautifully made and your view through the trees made the view more nice. Though the front wall is completely in shaded area, you managed the harsh light reasonably well. Excellent depth and fine clarity. A good one. Tfs.

Your gift for brilliant light shines through again, this scene is beautiful for its built environment, but especially for the light falling across the scene. A lovely vie framed really nicely by the so well illuminated trees. Thanks for sharing.
