Robert (Robert1969) had mentioned this game in a comment from one of my previous photos (Metallic Spheres). This prompted me to look through some older photo albums in search of a picture I remember taking while sitting on a bench watching a group of seasoned veterans playing the game. They were quite animated and really having a great time enjoying each others company. I think I had just as much fun watching as they did playing!

Good morning, Jason,
Today is Sunday? Have you got a weekend or day off, for example? ))) An interesting sport report, good idea to crop this composition and creative realisation. Good quality for a scan.
Have a good Sunday!

A clever composition and a nice cut. Your choice of title is right on. A well spotted scene. Nice blurred bg. Thanks:)
Best regards, Erling

actually i liked it. the image is so well positioned and gives that pent up energy in the game.

I think itīs pretty popular game in France or generally in south of Europe.
I like especially the way you composed the scene and decision to avoid another general view and put stress only on a detail. In this case these steel balls.
It makes the scene more expressive.

Old stuff well scanned. "Balls of steel"... I once saw few senior citizen in Paris while playing, since I am not fluent in French - it was hard to comprehand the enthusiasm they showed. But, I guess it is interesting to see exitment as in any game.
Nice presented, have a nice week ahead,

Excellent detail photo in very good light & clarity. Well chosen tight crop. Well done.

A great example of how a tight crop is very effective to emphasise detail. We can instantly recognise the game that the player is participating in whilst his identity remains anonymous. The shallow depth of field works perfectly. Very well done.

Like a lot the cropped way to made the Boules the main protagonist of this creative capture
Sometimes a detail says more than a panoramic, good title and perfect vertical format
Well done, have a great week end resting from the long drive

haha, i would have titled this one balls of steel, but never mind that ;)
i like this one, jason ~ the colors, the blues and grays, complement one another nicely. i love detail shots anyway, but what i really like about this one is that just by the curve of his fingers, you can feel this guy thinking, strategizing...
it almost says more than his face might. clever shot!
get well soon!
