Early Spring View Photo

Photographer’s Note

Past April in Antibes, a sort of Summer of Milan.
Leaving the city with boots, winter jacket, jeans...and arrival in Antibes with 25 or more degrees, sun and children playing on t-shirt down on the streets, girls taking sun on the beach, and someone swimming in the sea.

Just the tourists walk around with deep winter jackets, sunglasses for the poor eyes that don't had saw the sunlight for months...and the child play ball in his spring-summer-autumnal Antibes uniform: a t-shirt.

The image was took in my favorite small neighborhhood of Antibes: Safranier, few toursits, really few shops (and no one with gadgets et similia), 2 or 3 restaurants just full of local people or for tourists comin in Antibes from decades and that well know this small jewell.

Hi Paolo, nice one with this yellow wall on the left starting this upwards perspective. Typical Mediterranean street. I think you could use an aperture even narrower than f/10, to get the fg sharper, the light permits it here.

A charming and very full of life city. I suppose that in this period,it made more quiet.
A centring studied well to show these alleys in the certain charm under the sun and an attractive light.

This is a lovely natural image of a back street in Antibes, away from any flashy fashion stores or expensive cars....just these simple people in the natural environment, which is full of terracotta painted buildings and flower-filled homes. Well captured.

Tricky shot, usually in this kind of photo there is always a over-blown spot ruining the entire experience. Yet you were able to do a great job managing the light. Very good use of the perspective to compose the image. Love how you have captured the kid fooling around on the background.

un petit retour au printemps ? Question couleurs, c'est vraiment fantastique. Une ruelle propre et bien entretenue quoi que étroite, l apreuve que c'est une question de civisme.

Surely one of the best street shots I have seen here on TE.
Well spotted. Sometimes too many objects and contrasts may give the impression of a chaos in the frame, but here all works well here.

I love small streets like this they have so much character, and this one is no exception. I like the light filtering down onto the street and the details of all the buildings. Nice perspective and the people give a good sense of scale to the shot.

Loce this one, if you see in my gallerie I love wandering at the streets trying to get the best from their buildings and if possible with some persons. This one of yours has both beautiful coloured buildings and nice characters wandering thru them.
The details of the facades are very nice with the iron works of the windows, the little plant pots and also this litght coming from above creating nice contrasts of light and shadow.

Hey Paolo,

Interesting horizontal format used, applying the "rule of thirds" off-centering the right portion which features the narrow streets with the charming character of the surrounding wall, grillworks, plant boxes and door steps of the quite neighborhood.

This is really an amazing shot with the beautiful narrow street and the colorful houses, lovely fade effect at the end of the street with a good depth and nice light and shadows. The presence of the couple and the kid add motion to your wonderful shot.
