Martel in autumn is much more quiet than Martel in summer. I waited a long time for getting an element of life in focus. The car on the background makes the picture less static, in my opinion. Hope you agree.

Nice street, you did catch a real atmosphere here. I don't even think the van brings something to the pictures as you suggest.

Nice picture of a lovely street. Your composition is very intersting, I think it is the curve of the street which gives a feeling of movement. Personally I don't mind when there is no "element of life" (I wouldn't have put such a van in my picture)...such streetscape have such a long story that they are alive themselves! Wonderful picture!

Hello Huub,
Very good perspective along this interesting street with the lovely stone walls. The damp looking roadway adds to the atmosphere. Good detail. I am a bit ambivalent about the inclusion of the van. It all depends on what you are trying to achieve I suppose but, personally, I think the street can speak for itself.

A very quiet street Huub. By itself, it has its own visual values and character. The minivan and the tarred walkway suggested today whereas the building's facade suggested from earlier period. It also tells that modern is more utilitarian compared to things of yesterday, which is more "colorful" and with intricate character.Your work here is a work of contrast.
