Aveyron Canyon Photo

Photographer’s Note

Aveyron is a river 291 km long rising in the southern Massif Central near Sévérac-le-Château in department of Aveyron and flowing into river Tarn north-west of Montauban city. From a village called Najac to another village called Montricoux, the river forms a canyon. This photo was taken in the most spectacular area of this canyon, between two villages called Penne and Cazals, along the D115 road. It is the narrowest place in the canyon. The road goes bottom of spetacular cliffs and goes accross several tunnels. I took this photo in late afternoon, as a beautiful light was falling on the cliffs.

Hi Olivier,
Impressive and powerful picture. I like a lot the low POV and the curve of the road in the foreground. The cloudless sky is a definite bonus and adds much to the mood. Well done!

Hello Olivier,
This is a wonderfully balanced composition between the vegetation, rock and the sky. The road and the tunnel entrance draw the eyes to them which are well placed in this framing. Good stuff!

You play wonderful with light on the big rock.
Also the environment with green of leaves makes this image very attractive.
