Photographer's Note

Situated in the department of the Ariège, Notre-Dame of Vals is a semi-rupestral church (partially cut in the rock) at three levels, known for the Romanic frescoes which it contains, of a big historic and artistic interest.
An activity of very old cult going back up(raising) at the beginning of the Antiquity was moved forward.
The bases of the church would go back at least to the Xth century (at the end of Carolingian period and appears in texts from 1104.
