At the corner of an alley in the village of Sorèze , this pretty flowery façade , spring oasis in this cold Sunday in December ...

Sorèze cited nearly 2700 inhabitants is located 50 km from Toulouse, Castres 25 km and 40 km from Carcassonne.

The old village is classified through medieval streets lined with half-timbered houses and corbels dating from the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries , as well as Saint- Martin Bell , the only remnant of the parish church burned in 1573 during the wars of religion.

His fame , Sorèze owes its Abbaye- Ecole , Historic Monument since 1988. Exciting than this abbey founded in the eighth century , became seminar and Royal Military Academy under Louis XVI and private school education later repeated by Father Lacordaire , big speaker Dominican history. She gave Sorèze an international reputation.

Closed in 1991 , it is now the subject of a major tourist and cultural project and reborn through numerous activities related to music, theater and education with hotel and restaurant on site, as well as ' two golf museum retracing the history and daily life of students.

The village is nestled at the foot of the Black Mountains which offers lush unspoilt forests of beech, oak and softwood . Many hiking trails , equestrian and mountain biking through it.
