Hello Claude - This is very much to my liking, I think the black and white conversion has been well executed with a full range of tones and very well presented level of detail in the clouds. Magical light and a beautifully atmospheric landscape shot.

I presume that you are now back home after your trekking in the Pyrenees and I hope you had a great time.
This is a lovely photograph which really has captured the early morning light as it struggles to shine through the mist and cloud. It is one of those pictures which, sadly, has been very reduced in quality by the "shrinking" that occurs on the "new" TE website but, when viewed at its "proper" size of 2,300 pixels in width, the details in the rocks, the scree, the little stream and the solitary tree are superb.
And this picture works so well in black and white too - lovely light, tones and contrasts and perfect exposure.
P.S. Looking at this at its full size, I see one or two circular artefacts in the sky. I'm not sure if they could be due to sensor dust or perhaps simply to some tiny spots of dew or mist on your lens or filter - these things become much more apparent at small apertures and I see that you used f/19 for this photograph.
P.P.S. Do you want to hear the worst joke I have ever heard?
Question: "Where are the Pyrenees?"
Answer: "Just up from the Pyren Ankles."

Wow, Claude, this is a bit special! The monochrome treatment allows us to concentrate on shape and composition, which is as it should be for a shot with so much graphism. The light is of course vital, as is the low cloud, but in this incarnation, they are in the service of form: blocks of tone which are dramatically eye-catching. Love it.

The unusual atmospheric conditions you've captured are very dramatic, especially in B&W. Framed in a simple white mat with gray core adds to the minimalistic presentation. Well done.

Beautiful iamge and I love that it is in black and white. I think black and white image is under appreciated here. Love the ray of light and the misty atmosphere and mood is well captured.

Nice one this, the sky merging with the mountains, you were rewarded with a perfect view after a rainy night. Great idea to present this awe-inspiring landscape in monochrome.

I love this with the atmospheric cloud and wonderful light touching the mountainside. A lovely range of tones with enough detail in the FG. Gorgeous photography.
Kind Regards, Ann
