In the town of Castres ( Tarn ) , crossing the old streets of the " Patch " ( historic city center ) , historic location , you can see beautiful mansions Renaissance .
Under Henry IV , the installation of the Court Chamber of the Edict and the arrival of many judges as well as the economic development of that time allowed the construction of some of the major buildings in the city , including hotel Nayrac which was built in 1620 by Mr. Oulès rich cloth merchant ....
The photo shows the door of Honor located in the courtyard of the southern part of the hotel Nayrac . It can be seen above the door the family coat of arms , a bowl of fruit symbolizing abundance , lions power and fame.
The hotel was built in the spirit of Toulouse or Albi combining brick and stone architecture. The apartments were in the southern part of the building open onto a courtyard with a small well . In the northern part were the shops and arcades which opened the shop on the street. All dominated by an imposing square tower which reinforces the idea of reputation of the family.

a wonderful monochrome study this. Cropped to perfection and full of immaculate detail that is all the more compelling in this medium. Super tones and shadows make this so effective.
Enjoy your weekend - B.

Tu as fait là une photo pleine de détails et bien cadrée. Le noir et blanc va bien au sujet. La note est intéressante et instructive.
L'ensemble est bien fait.

superb architectural study and close-up shot!
I enjoy your decision to frame this scene like that and to choose B&W medium for this presentation.Makes definitely the perception of it more expressive.
Have a nice sunday

I think b&w studies have to be even more exact than colour. Apart from anything else, people are more observant of composition and crispness of detail for there are no colours to distract.
This is a good crop, capturing the relevant features and nicely symmetrical. There is s good range of shades from near white to black.
Have a lovely day,

A splendid photo! You have so many great photos, but this one and the market photo from Albi are my favourites.
You've chosen the perfect light to dramatize all the textures, edges and depressions. I love the close crop. This is so good!
