Photographer’s Note
This one of the mostly often photographed objects in Southern France. It's official name is known as Le Pont Valentré. It is built in the 14th century. A legend is connected with the bridge, and from that legend is derived his second name: the Devil's bridge: "The architect hired the devil for an apprentice the Devil, promising to pay him with his soul for full obedience. The Devil served faithfully in expectation of the rich reward. When the bridge was almost finished, the architect asked his apprentice to bring water in a sieve. The Devil failed and so the contract was broken. But since then one of the towers always gets ruined in the years".
To me the BW version looks more appealing to it's ancient history. For those of you, who insist on color presentation, I apply a workshop in color.

Hello Anton,
This must be your first black and white in TE..!?
The conversion has been well done with good tonality and fine contrasts...
A well balanced composition, with an effective lead-in to that fine old bridge!

Hallo Anton, I think you made the right decision, together with the note the B&W is more suitable.
I always add a tiny bit of yellow and red with the colour balance function in my PhotoFiltre programm, that way B&W seems warmer/older.
TFS both picture and story,

Hallo Anton!
A wonderful building, a good photo and a worth reading note!
But - I don't know whether you want to know it - I like the colour version better, because - Thank God! - the world is coloured ;-) I think, that the great light of the south is presented better there. No offence!
Greetings from grey and cold Germany!

Zdrasti, Antone,
To tell you my true feeling, I prefer the color version (but it seems it needed more saturation).
Good composition, with the trees and bushes.

it s not because it is related to history but in such days where there is sunlight coming from left bw is the best option. it has been very effective in your photo. Happy new year
