Photographer’s Note
A short series of interior views of the Cathedral of Sainte-Cecille at Albi. Today, a another close-up the magnificent ceiling frescoes, this time with a view of the stonework tracery forming the top of the roodscreeen.
The following from Wikipedea:
“It is built in the Southern Gothic Style. Notable architectural features include the bell-tower (added in 1492), which stands 78 meters tall, and the doorway by Dominique de Florence (added circa 1392).
The elaborate interior stands in stark contrast to the cathedral's military exterior. The central choir, reserved for members of the religious order, is surrounded by a roodscreen with detailed filigree stone work and a group of polychrome statues. Below the organ, a fresco of the Last Judgement, attributed to unknown Flemish painters, originally covered nearly 200 m² (the central area was later removed). The frescoes on the enormous vaulted ceiling comprise the largest and oldest ensemble of Italian Renaissance painting in France.
The cathedral organ, the work of the artist Christophe Moucherel, dates from the 18th century.”

Hi Stephen
Nicely composed using the rule of thirds with the horizontal rail in the lower part of the image appropriately placed. Wonderful colour & repetition, with good shadow detail. Tfs!

Hi Stephen,
Very interesting architecture! The repeated lines make a good composition, the balance with the horizontal beam is very harmonic.

Hallo Stephen!
At the first glance a confusing photo but after some seconds one begins to marvel and admires this beauty. The many details, the stonemasonry, the paintings - all is overwhelming. The eyes here nearly are overstrained. I never have seen something like this.
Greetings and thank you for showing this from rainy and stormy Siegen!

thats a hard title to say...almost like red lorry yellow lorry..:)
detail like this goes unseen except to the photographer who can zoom up and capture it for our enjoyment
the vastness of art in churches and cathedrals needs to be broken down into studies to appreciate
walking into somewhere like st peters in rome one is 'choked' to death by the array of art, light, and atmosphere
one needs to get close to appreciate and see the brush strokes and the chisel marks..if any which means its pretty good art!
a lifetimes work in the construction can be seen here..what stories it can tell
cheers

Hello Stephen,
Very appealing straight on prespective of these wonderful carvings that have a multi dimensional effect as they jut out beyond the ornate stained glass windows. The ceiling is full of lovely contrasting colors and intricate paintings.

Hi Stephen,
Amazing details , and wonderful sharpness. The colors are very well defined and well balanced. Great image. The only thing I will comment on will be the white windows. I would probably try and darken them a little bit with a blue brush.
I wish you a great week. Best regards. Salvator.
