Photographer’s Note

Some weeks ago at the Mediterranean. It was around 24 degrees in the air but the wind was quite strong.

But it felt like summer, even in the middle of October.

Good morning Gunnar,

sure a lovely picture and a pleasure to see, that there is still a feeling of summer down in the south.. but i would have cropped a little bit of the sky (above the clouds..), seems to be a better format, in my opinion..

nevertheless a fine take, like it..

Hello Gunnar,
A pleasing daily life scene bringing back memories of the recent summer. The couple are nicely placed in the frame and I like how the shoreline sweeps round the frame. The two buildings, although modern and a bit austere, are not obtrusive and help balance the composition. Good light, colours and sharpness.

A nice view, but it doesn't look that very warm. Still a nice reminder of summer. It seems that every person has a kind of halo that indicates oversharpening.

Hello Gunnar,

A clear sharp and attractive picture.

The sunlight from a fairly low angle, lights up the figures and makes them stand out well from the background.

The main elements of interest here are of course the man and the girl. The fact that they are walking - virtually in step with each other - across the image, gives a sense of dynamism.

An imaginary line drawn across the top of their two heads makes a strong diagonal and reinforces the dynamic effect.

The incoming waves move in the same L to R direction, and the sea's edge is a fine lead in, taking the eye across, then around and into the distance, giving a fine sense of perspective.

The man's body is placed over one of the powerpoints,
which makes him the anchor of the image.

The two buildings at the right balance the composition nicely.

The colours of sea, sand and sky are soft, giving a peaceful air to the picture.

I have considered a crop from either top or bottom, but I don't think it would be any improvement to this excellent picture.

A summer feeling, yes, but you would not guess this the Mediterranean Sea. Looks more like Nothern Europe. Excellent shot and fine natural colours. TFS and have a nice evening!

Hi Gunnar, Yes, there is summer somewhere, definitely not in Poland, and not in Sweden. I suppose that on Canary Islands you can have summer all the year round, or on Goa:). In October also Crete is a good place. Nice beach photo.
I will have summer soon but not lazy lying on the beach. Next week I begin intensive visiting of Moghul architecture.

This is a nice beach scene with the people add life.
The weather is still like summer here in Florida, this could have been taken here today. Your composition is nice with the curving beach leading the eye through the shot.
