Seen from the observatory weather of Aigoual It will take 7 years, at a rate of 70 working days on average to build the observatory per annum. In 1888, only 52 working days ago. The year 1889, engraved on the pediment was to see the end of work and the inauguration. Alas, this year there, only 75 working days ago. In 1890, 83 days. The contractor responsible for the building site, completely ruined, finishes work in 1893 like simple workman. The inauguration takes place on August 18, 1894

Aigoual constitutes the last weather observatory in activity of mountain in France. It became as much a station powerful weather with a modern park with instruments making it possible to test measuring apparatus in extreme conditions as a exposure-museum of the meteorology, attended by more than 150 000 people each summer. At the observatory two complementary entities cohabit: on the one hand personnel of Weather-France, in charge of the scientific work specific to any station weather and on the other hand personnel of the Community of communes of Aigoual for the operation and the management of the exposure.

Photo catch after the rise that we thus call the departure the 4000 steps this finds has Valleraugue with 340m altitude to arrive at the observatory which culminates with 1565m after 3h of grimpette under a good weather as you can see it on the photograph, the descent is done by surface of coast and the collar of the step to finish with Valleraugue, sympathetic excursion of 30km and 1200m of uneven......
