The temple was built of 1901 to 1905 in the village of Espérou, commune of Valleraugue.

Espérou is a village located on a plate of the solid mass of Aigoual at 1200 m of altitude, administratively shared between the communes of Dourbies and Valleraugue.
Created by serfs freed by their lord, it accomodated a settlement come from Aubrac after the wars of religion.
There was a medieval abbey, Notre-Dame du Bonheur, Our-injury of Happiness, ruined with the revolution.

Around Espérou, one discovers the Cevennes, his landscapes very varied and wild, immense forests, the moors, the steppes, the deserted tracks, the brooks, the water falls, the canyons, the swallow-holes and caves, causses (plateau), a vegetation and a typical fauna. One discovers there also people and their habitat, of the disseminated firm hamlets and, architectures which merge with the rocks.
High place of the history of the camisards and men of the maquis, this area inspired by many Cevennes writers such Andre Chamson, Jean-Pierre Chabrol or Jean Carrière.
It is a captivating country which one cannot escape from the charm.

Valleraugue is a common Frenchwoman located in the department of the Gard of the Languedoc-Roussillon area, populated of 1009 "Valleraugois", distributed on 79 km², that is to say 12 hab./km².

Hello Joël,
I like the point of view you have chosen here and the squarish framing. There is a pleasing balance to the composition with good juxtaposition between temple and tree. Very good colours and clarity.

J'aime bien cette vue en légère contre-plongée. Une photo bien nette, judicieusement cadrée avec ce gros arbre à droite, et de belles couleurs naturelles.

De bonnes couleurs naturelles et une contre-plongée qui met bien l'édifice en valeur.L'arbre nu sur la droite habille très bien la composition également.Et bien sûr je n'oublie pas la note très riche qui accompagne toujours tes réalisations.

comme tu le précises, malgré quelquefois des endroits désertiques, on ne peut qu'être enthousiasmé par cette région avec tout ce que tu nous présentes tel que ce temple situé en altitude avec une note explicite
un beau ciel et un peu de neige qui est restée...

Hi Joel! Did I like the simple church in the countryside with the tree company and a composition of chastity and simple, but so much religious fineness,white as delicacy? I believe it should it is the clean soul of what wants it believes?

Belle photo de ce temple qui est très jolis et qui comme vous dite a été érigé par des cerfs affranchis ce qui doit être très important pour une région. Jolies couleurs et bonne netteté, bonnes notes explicatives aussi.

J'ai beaucoup aimé lire il y a quelques années "la route des camisards" qui racontaient les luttes des gens de cette régions pour pratiquer leur foi.
Un beau témoignage de tous ces épisodes d'histoires qui ont construit l'histoire de France.

nice little church in a good composition with the tree. We still miss snow this winter. But it seems it was not too much there also. I like the good quality of the wall and the roof.

Joel,
I like the upward angle of this shot giving the church a sense of reaching for the heavens. Your composition is great including the tree for balance and the snow for contrast. The lighting and colors are fine with excellent sharpness and DOF. The cloudy sky adds a nice backdrop for the church.

Salut Joel,
Je trouve que tu as trouvé un bel équilibre dans cette image.
Outre la netteté et les couleurs, que j'apprécie beaucoup ici, comme très souvent dans ta gallerie, la compo est efficace, décentrée juste ce qu'il faut, avec deux éléments qui se renvoient l'oeil.
