The Mount Aigoual is a granitic mountain, climax of Gard and second climax of Lozere after the mount Lozere 1702 m, is a south-eastern projection of the Massif-Central mountain. It is remarkable by its panorama, its climatology. In clear weather, one discovers on 300 km of ray, the Mediterranean, the mount Lozere, the Mounts of the Cantal, the Pyrenees, the Alps.
One discovers there the top close of Portalet of 1565 m, and of course the large causses and the surrounding Cevennes.
The watershed between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean crosses the summit part. Several rivers take there their source of which Herault.

The climatic conditions are very hard, Aigoual receives on average 2,5 m of rain per annum.
Some statements records:
Maximum temperature: 28,7 °C on August 11, 2003, minimal: -28°C in 1956.
Maximum speed of the wind: 171 km/h on average on a day, gusts exceeding 360 km/h on November 1, 1968.
Quantity of maximum rain of 24 hours: 607 mm enter on October 30, 1963 to 6 p.m. and on October 31, 1963 to 18h.
Maximum height of fresh snow cumulated in 1 year: 10,39 meters (winter 1995-1996).
Numbers average annual days of freezing: 144; days of heat 25 °C: 0; days of rain: 170; days of strong wind 16 m/s: 265; days of fog: 241; days when the ground is covered with snow: 118.
It is also the place of Metropolitan France where the most important office pluralities of rain over short periods are recorded, in particular during the "Cevennes episodes" in autumn. The strongest annual office plurality, 4 015 mm was recorded in 1913.

Valleraugue is a common Frenchwoman located in the department of the Gard of the Languedoc-Roussillon area, populated of 1009 "Valleraugois", distributed on 79 km², that is to say 12 hab./km².

Une vraie sculpture cet arbre glacé. Le ciel est superbe et offre un fort contraste avec les pentes enneigées. Très bonne composition, et je crois avoir encore plus un faible pour celle que tu proposes en WS, avec la courbe naturelle.

Une belle scéne de la nature avec le ciel gris et la lumiére qui illumine le paysage enneigé, ça donne un contraste adorable, bien présenter avec cet arbre qui parait givré par le froid, belle aussi celle en WS

Hi Joel! excellent shots! Even if the such snow little, but the temperature that it creates in the trees crystals spectacular. Because I worked on 20 years in so much altitude! the frozen trees him we called chandeliers, and have seen really natural chandeliers despite many times! but it is impossible to them I describe with reasons.

Si ce sommet est situé près du mont Aigoual, le vent doit y souffler en permanence, c'est un des souvenirs que j'ai de l'Aigoual, un vent à décorner une salers et une température galaciale fin aout.
Une belle compo tout en contraste sous ce ciel de plomb.
Très bien vu, un bon café chaud a été le bienvenu après la balade!!

bonsoir

le vent doit souffler très fort là-haut pour avoir autant assécher ce pauvre arbre ou l'on dirait que la foudre lui est tombee dessus, d'après ta note, le résultat est prouvé..
Les couleurs du ciel sont superbes et le paysage aussi
je préfère cette photo à ton ws car des arbres en arrière plan donnent des contrastes de couleurs

il faut qu'ils aient la rage de vivre les vegetaux la haut et la selection est rude. celui-ci un peu isolé du groupe n'a pas supporté visiblement les conditions extremes du site. mais il te donnera l'occasion de realiser un joli cliché. le soleil perce ce ciel metallique. un coin qui en impose.

La forme de l'abre est géniale, il doit avoir de la peine, voir même il est mort, mais cette neige, ces autre arbre bien figousse, sont superbe et j'aime bien cette ambaince de couleur juste après les précipitations quan le temps de se lève, génial, très bel effet.
