By climatic very variable and very bad conditions, cold wind very hard.

the Aigoual mount, located on the comune of Valleraugue, is a granitic mountain climax of Gard and second climax of Lozere after the mount Lozere 1702 m, is a south-eastern projection of the Massif-Central mountain. It is remarkable by its panorama, its climatology. In clear weather, one discovers on 300 km of ray, the Mediterranean, the mount Lozere, the Mounts of the Cantal, the Pyrenees, the Alps.
One discovers there the top close of Portalet of 1565 m, and of course the large causses and the surrounding Cevennes.
The watershed between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean crosses the summit part. Several rivers take there their source of which Herault.

The climatic conditions are very hard, Aigoual receives on average 2,5 m of rain per annum.
Some statements records:
Maximum temperature: 28,7 °C on August 11, 2003, minimal: -28°C in 1956.
Maximum speed of the wind: 171 km/h on average on a day, gusts exceeding 360 km/h on November 1, 1968.
Quantity of maximum rain of 24 hours: 607 mm enter on October 30, 1963 to 6 p.m. and on October 31, 1963 to 18h.
Maximum height of fresh snow cumulated in 1 year: 10,39 meters (winter 1995-1996).
Numbers average annual days of freezing: 144; days of heat 25 °C: 0; days of rain: 170; days of strong wind 16 m/s: 265; days of fog: 241; days when the ground is covered with snow: 118.
It is also the place of Metropolitan France where the most important office pluralities of rain over short periods are recorded, in particular during the "Cevennes episodes" in autumn. The strongest annual office plurality, 4 015 mm was recorded in 1913.

In this mountain of the Cevennes, one discovers very varied and wild landscapes, immense forests, deserted moors, steppes, tracks, brooks, falls of water, canyons, swallow-holes and caves, causses, a vegetation and a typical fauna. One discovers there also people and their habitat, of the disseminated firm hamlets and, architectures which merge with the rocks.
High place of the history of the camisards and men of the maquis, it inspired by many Cevennes writers such Andre Chamson, Jean-Pierre Chabrol or Jean Carrière.
It is a captivating country which one cannot escape from the charm.

Valleraugue is a common Frenchwoman located in the department of the Gard of the Languedoc-Roussillon area, populated of 1009 "Valleraugois", distributed on 79 km², that is to say 12 hab./km².

bonjour Joël
le panorama est fantasique,et j'aime beaucoup le contraste entre le premier plan blanc et le ciel sombre.Ces couleurs sont superbes!par contre,je trouve qu'il y a du bruit dans les nuages,ce qui ne doit pas être difficile à éliminer pour que la photo soit parfaite.

il devait pas faire tres chaud en haut de l'Aigoual ce jour là, le premier plan blanchi par la neige contraste bien avec le ciel tourmenté.

Salut Joel,
Une photo très dramatique, très bien cadrée et illuminée. La clarté du premier plan fait un beau contraste avec le ciel gris et ses nouages grises. On peut sentir la force du vents à l'arbre et il est facile de deviner les vues fantastiques qui doivent exister là.
Une note très intéressante et instructive.

une superbe paysage enneigé, avec une grosse PDC, pascale a raison un léger bruit dans le ciel, je pense parce que tu as forcé sur la saturation
il parait que cette nuit il est tombé 50cm a l'aigoual

Un joli tableau hivernal à l'avant plan bien exposé. La texture de la neige est bien rendue et contraste joliment avec le ciel nuageux . Belle luminosité et cadrage bien fait!

ah oui, là, bravo! Le ciel est superbe et cet arbre qui fait couragement face à l'adversité venteuse est bien pris et bien placé dans la compo. Dommage pour ce bruit vraiment visible (erreur dans la selection de la sensibilité?)...

Photo magnifiquement composée. Les couleurs sont superbes et j'aime beaucoup le contraste entre le ciel sombre et les plaques de neige. Très bon rendu de la matière de la neige.
On ressent le froid glacial qui règne à cet endroit où il fait déjà bien frais en juillet!

Beau paysage d'hiver sur le Mont Aigoual. Ta photo aide bien à imaginer la rudeur du climat dans cet endroit désert où presque rien ne pousse. La couleur du ciel menaçant est magnifique et contraste bien avec le blanc du sommet enneigé!

Cette photo est superbe et les conditions climatiques épouvantables sont bien rendues avec le ciel et la neige qui a été projetée par le vent sur un côté seulement de l'arbuste. On entend la neige crisser sous les pas.
